Charles Hoskinson, co-founder and CEO of IOHK, which developed the Cardano platform, announced plans for the Ouroboros Bizantine Fault-Tolerant (OBFT) hard fork in mid-February.
During a live broadcast on YouTube, Charles Hoskinson noted that the hard fork will be held to update the Cardano consensus algorithm. The project is currently negotiating with exchanges to make sure that the infrastructure is fully ready.
According to Hoskinson, everything is going well, so there is no reason to delay the update. He did not say what changes will follow after the implementation of OBFT, but said that in the near future it will be possible to integrate Ledger hardware wallets with Daedalus wallet software.
Recall that in May 2018, IOHK planned to introduce an educational tool based on virtual reality, and a year ago, the company moved from Hong Kong to US state of Wyoming, which is distinguished by its loyal attitude to blockchain and cryptocurrencies.
