Agharta update activated on Ethereum Classic network
On 12th Jan the blockchain Ethereum Classic Block 9573000, the protocol Agharta update was activated.
“Forks went smoothly – as expected. Contrary to recommendations – most nodu Classic Geth was not updated. These nodas now can not keep consensus with the network”, – noted ETC Cooperative CEO Bob Sammervills.
According to etcnodes – 56.9% of ETC Nodus participated in the update.
“The problem of customer disharmony in ETC is the opposite of the situation in ETH, where Parity-Ethereum dominates. Geth Classic support after this fork is discontinued. It seems that most nodu operators have listened to the advice and switched to other software”, – stressed Sammervills
Agharta adds ETC Ethereum operation codes integrated into it along with hardfork Constantinople. Like the September update for Atlantis-it focuses on ensuring two-circuit compatibility. Constantinople included four proposals for improving Ethereum (EIP), which are first already related to optimizations for developers, editing code for scaling in the future and economic adjustments.
It should be noted that initially hardforks was scheduled for 15. January. In addition, less than 40% of the Ethereum Classic were ready for it.
